No. If nothing else, my interests are pretty specific so a gift card is actually preferable unless someone REALLY knows me AND the details of my (mostly technical) hobbies. That is why bookstores, gaming shops, and computer shops are a safe bet. It shows that they know me well enough to at least give an honest try (more honest than cash) at a personalized gift without getting me something I will likely return.
