  • Animals are total energy. They can express anything and everything we do emotionally. They have the language of silence that says it all.
  • Animals have emotions so i don't see why not.
  • According to some books that I have read the experts really don't know and they think it depends on how you define crying. For example is it because of emotion or for example something in the eye. Some say that elephants which have tear ducts and are thought by many to be emotional beings do - and other say it was just some sand in the eye. The animals are not talking so that we can understand anyway. +5
  • Tears are produced in mammals by the lachrymal system, tissues which make water. In land mammals, tears evolved to replace the water bath that the eyes of aquatic animals and fish are constantly surrounded by. Tears serve to clean the cornea and keep it moist. When a speck of dirt, for example, is lodged in the eye, more tears are produced in order to wash away the irritant. The fluid in tears is rich in nutrients and has anti-bacterial properties which help to fight infections. The salt in tears helps to create an osmotic balance within the eye. In animals, it is virtually impossible to tell if their tears are the result of emotions or merely caused by eye irritation. Most scientists agree, however, that humans are the only animals who produce emotional tears.
  • Animals cry, I see it with my pups. I can't speak for all humans but I do cry sometimes for no reason at all, my soul swells up with too much emotions and I simply cry.
  • Humans cry because they are taught to cry, animals do not cry because it is not a natural emotion, it is a learned emotion.
  • after the tears are depleted due to something bad, or good. the body triggers the reproduction of tears which in turn triggers the release of endorphins needed to endure the process of recovery, regaining fluid balance... I have noticed that people who cut themselves will cut untill they cry and think that it makes them happy.... I say save the fluids for a rainy day.

  • Animals not crying? That's going to come as big news to the vets at MSU School of Vet. Medicine. Humans cry for many reasons, mostly we cry for ourselves being lonely, abused, emotionsal hurt, pain, being lost and out of empathy for others. Animals cry from pain, lonliness and abuse.
