I'd rather just end it quickly. Not so much to spare my own pain, pain doesn't phase me much. But more for the sake of not lingering and tormenting my loved ones by spending any time as a dead man walking.

It depends on how slowly. If I had a month to get straight with everyone in my life and tell them all that I loved them, I'll take it. But if "slowly" means agonizingly over ten hours while stranded on the side of the road in Texas, I'll take "suddenly."

I would much rather die suddenly because then I wouldn't have to think about it at all.

I watched my father die a slow, painful death from cancer. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone. I would prefer my death to be quick and painless....preferably in my sleep.
