  • I prefer the old classics. most of the new stuff is both musically and lyrically too simple and repetitive.
  • NOPE ... I like the ole time Southern Gospel Music ... +5
  • Interesting that both answers so far have had the same sentiment--the old stuff is great, but the new stuff on Christian radio is awful. So why is it there? And why is the traditional stuff gathering dust? The new stuff must be successful (in monetary terms)--business is booming. But who the heck really listens to it? Old gospel tunes make me weep with emotion. Christian rock makes me retch. The last time I enjoyed Christian rock I was in grade school listening to Stryper. Which was also awful, of course.
  • I'm Christian but I just can't listen to Christian music. I've never heard anything that did anything for me.
  • no. I find most of it smacks of a lack of creativity both in musical score and lyrics. while I do not listen to it much I do on occasion enjoy michael w smith and there are a couple songs by jaci valasquez I like. when a christian song is good enough to make it's way to the top 40 charts then it is a worthy praise... but so much of what passes for christian music is frankly crap. no, I could not compose better, but that is why I do not compose and neither should many of them.
