No. They actually had a very strict policy on that type of thing at my High School. Most of the time we were addressed formally (for example: "Miss Bates"), or we were addressed by our first name. There was an Art teacher during my time that called some of his students "Mate", and "Love". He got into quite a lot of trouble over it.

Yes. My boss also calls me sweetie sometimes.. I think he confuses me for his daughter...

Yes. One teacher calls me babes as well, which I thinks a bit odd, but he's a nice guy really, even if he is a little weird.

Yes, in the brief time that I did go to school, I did manage to get called "Sweetie" by one teacher. Which I wouldn't have minded so much, except that it this teacher happened to be a man.

Everyone calls me Honey or Sweetie or Baby or Darlin... I think the prevalance of that varies by area. In the south, it seems more common than it was when I was up north.

sure... a lot. Especially when I was a little kid. In middle school my 8th grade teacher called me "hon" once... damn she was hot! Other than that, nope. I guess I lost all my sweetness the older I got!

Sure all the time. When I was in school it was ok to do so. I didn't care and neither did anyone I know. It's different now I guess.

Yes, it always made me laugh. Also had a male teacher from the Georgia who would use the phrase 'Now Son'.

I have to come clean and admit that I am one of those teachers who says "Honey". It is a term of endearment for me and I dont even think about it sometimes. I have tried very hard to not say it as often but sometimes it just comes out. I am sorry if I have offended anyone. Please know I am just a mom too and my heart loves young people.
