Help answer this question below.
last week my insurance company dropped me. i was paying $17,000 for myself. now, i can't buy insurance from anyone and i earn "too much" to qualify for a public program. i guess i don't blame them for rescinding my health insurance. i was too costly for them, as my medication costs $52,000 ish a year. i'm looking and i will keep on looking.
Nope I live in England where thankfuly we have good old NHS =D
Great question
Yes (NHS) - UK. when I was working I paid about 5% of my income for it (but this also provides me now I'm retired with an inflation indexed pension which is twice the aveage income of the country I live in). Since I retired the Health Service (all medical treatment and drugs) is free with no co-payments. The NHS has already cured me of cancer twice, without any increases or exclusions. Wake up USA!
Nope not really... the NHS pays for my healthcare.
I have National Health insurance and most of it is paid by my government.
Thankfully i live in the UK so NHS cover me.
Sure it has problems but they are fixable and it's served me and the rest of my family well so far.
NHS is great IMO. Couldnt imagine life without it.
Yes, my government pays it.
Yes we do. My husband's employer pays for part and we pay for part.
No neither of us do. We have just been offered some from my husband's job, and we're looking to see if we can afford it but I don't think so :-(
Yes, the company from which I retired pays for most of it.
No, my country does. Canada. :)
Of course. I pay for it through a negotiated salary deduction with my employer. I'd rather the system be for me to just get the money the employer would pay, out of profits from my hard work, and be able to shop to purchase what is best for me and my family. However, the negotiated terms benefit myself, family, and employer in the best way possible in the current system.

This is why we need Single Payer Universal Health Care. You need to be in a huge pool where there are people who use little or no part of their health insurance and people like you who have larger health needs.
This is what insurance is all about. Having a pool of insured, some of whom use the payments and some who don't. How many people actually use their fire insurance? Almost none. But would you do away with your fire insurance if you had a building or home?
The important thing about insurance is that it is there in case you need it and that the overall costs are shared by everyone.
