  • It depends on how much time I have, or how often I get interrupted. SOmetimes I give up in frustration, I am interrupted so much! I can finish a 200 page book in a few hours, when left alone. +5
  • It would depend on the book. If it's something that grabs my interests, maybe in a couple of days.
  • a 200 page book would take me about a week
  • Oh I can read a two hundred page comic book really quick. The main thing: can he comprehend what he read?
  • I don't like to read so I would just prefer to not accept the challenge of reading a book in it's entirety in the first place.
  • I don't read very quickly, but I never feel like it's a race anyway. I read for the enjoyment or benefit of the material.
  • I ain't no Evelyn Woods, that's for sure. Like, you posted your question over an hour ago. I'm still reading it! :-) +5
  • Well, it all depends on the kind of book Im reading. I was reading a 482pg book and finished it by the third day because it was just too addicting to read. I couldn't set it down because i wanted to know what happened next. But if its the most boring book ever, it'll probably take me a month or two. Its the interest that affects your time to read a book.
  • I can read a 200 page book (small size) in 2-4 hours, if it's "light material". (meaning no complicated specialistic science language and mathematical formulas) That's slow actually. . I'm still trying once in a while to learn a bit about the speed reading thing, but it takes some time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_reading
  • I'm a very slow reader. Although on my way I memorize it, remember tons of quotes after years. In oppose to my mom, who can swallow a book per night, but in the morning she doesn't remember what was it about.
  • 200 pages in a day or more depending on the level of my concentration.
  • I love reading but both my husband and myself are homeschooling our 14 year old boy and we just love it! So at the time it would take me over 2 weeks to read a 200 page book as we are very busy.
  • Just general reading, a whole lot, not sure how many pages. If it's technical takes me longer. Sometimes just to challenge myself I'll pick up a technical book about a subject I know nothing about. I go through it word by word. Sometimes having to look up most of the information online or in the dictionary. That takes foreeeeeeevvvverrrr. Usually it's nothing I'll ever need to know or use but it forces me to keep my brain engaged.
  • Hmmm, books I've read in one day... Rose Madder, The DaVinci Code, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Old Man and the Sea (but that one is pretty short...) I read pretty fast. I've always enjoyed reading and practice quite often.
  • i read every harry potter book in less than a day. oh and that same day i read the da vinci code haha
  • i read all four of the twilight series in two weeks. i think thats fast but it all depends on the amount of time you can allow yourself before your ignoring your family to read.
  • It takes me a few weeks unless it is a small paperback which is unusually interesting, then I can finish it in four days.
  • i can read a book in 4 hours if it is good, average paper back. +5
  • I don't read fast because I find it hard to retain information if I try. I just read more slowly. It'll probably take me 2 weeks to read 200 pages, if it's pretty interesting.
  • If I can just sit and read with no interruptions, it'll take me about 6-8 hours to get through a 800-900 page book. Sadly, I don't have that kind of time anymore. I'm a total book junkie (I have books everywhere at my apt), but now it takes me a few days or even a week to finish a book.
