pirates is another word for terrorists. pirates are terrorists at sea, in boats, on ships. they are envious of the things other people have and they dont have. they have a thing addiction.

Because they like the lifestyle and the lure of easy money. Much the same idea of why people become bank robbers or drug dealers, except the casual life at sea sounds inviting to a lot of people.
