depends on what kind of business - i have found doing good work leads to more work. Word of mouth is the best promotional advantage you can have. There are also alot of forums online for most every business type - you might add value by contributing to those - be careful to not promote too much

Depends on business. Offline business? Then google adwords isn't going to do much. Online it's 50% marketing, 40% advertising, 5% luck 5% balls
