I live in michigan and have been dealing with the judicial system for years now. When someone smarts off to the judge its contempt of court. Its at least a 30 day misdemeanor. I once saw someone get cocky eith the district court judge and eveytime he said a smart comment it was 30 days added on to his original sentence. By the time he was finished he was sitting 6 months and just for the smart comments alone.
