Help answer this question below.

I have a deep gash 1" from the wrist 3" long; 8 staples, (accident) I usually tape a gauze square on it and wrap snugly w/ Ace bandage. I bought a compression wrist support instead, it feels a little tight. Is this OK for this injury?
