How long does it take for chicks to hatch?

My neighborhood has wild chickens if they lay their eggs on my land are they now my eggs to keep, I live in Pike Co Kentucky and My neighbor said they were her eggs which are now dids a couple days old because she threw some food out to the hen a few times. What would you do I have little children that are crying now because she said she was taking me to court to get the baby chicks Thanks for any help u can give .

WOW, That was totally intense! But where did the second chicken from two "non-chicken" parents come from to mate with the first real chicken to start the real chicken legacy? Are you saying a bunch of "non-chickens" mated to only produce real or true chickens that in turn produced more of the same? Hmmm.... interesting!
