  • There are rules for this? It seems common courtesy that those already gathered would make the one entering for the first time feel welcome, but life is happier (and gatherings merrier) without expectations and rigid rules.
  • I do not think there is a convention. But in my opinion, the people already in the room should be welcoming to the newcomer.

  • I don't think there is an etiquette for that. Whoever says it first says it first... In a way, it would be nice for the people already in the house to greet the person, but either way works. :)
