Does a mortgage by husband before the marriage become wife's burden if married less than a year in California?

I am 99.9% positive that it does not. In fact, as far as I know, if it was his before the marriage, you would even have trouble getting it taken into account during a divorce. Were that not the case, I could just buy an expensive house, marry a woman when I couldn't aford it, and then divorce her at the specified period of time and she would have to help pay it off.
