I suppose we'll all have to go back to growing our own drugs!

I seriously doubt that, seeing as how the FDA can not pass laws, but please provide a link to a credible source.

I think this is just a step towards socialism. They want people to pay for doctors and many people can't afford that, so it will force people to vote in favor of medical plan similar to the way it is in England, so that they can see a doctor just to get some tylenol. Its just part of a clever plan to take away more of our rights.

stupid and backwards ... thankfully I live in Australia and don't have to put up with these half arsed laws

I hope that this isn't true, but if it is, I will be stockpiling Excedrin. I get bad migraines that only respond to acetominophen. Many consumers will not want to go to the doctor and get a prescription every time they get a simple headache (and the 47 million uninsured Americans can't afford to do that).

God, that pisses me off so badly that I'm getting a headache. Where's the aspirin? Oh yeah, that's right.....it's behind a $90 unnecessary doctor visit, $5.00 worth of gas for the trip, a 30 minute wait while the pharmacist fills the prescription, and $20 for the prescription. Can they FEEL thier headache if I rip somebody's head off for this?? $125.00 bottle of aspirin. Gee, that's swell! +5

Well since the FDA is American, I don't have to worry.

It is Tylenol 3 they are talking about, it combines hydrocodone and acetaminophen, they are propossing Banning prescription combination medicines. Brand Name Products Generic Name (Trade Name) Fentanyl ( Duragesic Extended Release Transdermal System) Methadone ( Dolophine Tablets) Morphine ( Avinza Extended Release Capsules) Morphine ( Kadian Extended Release Capsules) Morphine ( MS Contin Extended Release Tablets) Morphine ( Oramorph Extended Release Tablets) Oxycodone ( OxyContin Extended Release Tablets) Oxymorphone ( Opana Extended Release Tablets) Generic Products Generic Name ( drug Name) Fentanyl ( Fentanyl Extended Release Transdermal System) Methadone (Methadose Tablets) Methadone ( Methadone HCL Tablets) Morphine ( Morphine Sulfate Extended Release Tablets) Oxycodone ( Oxycodone Extended Release Tablets) Note that there is the potential for this list to be expanded if the REMS also includes short-acting opioid medication, like Percocet, Vicodin and Tylenol #3. APF(American Pain Foundation) is concerned that focusing only on extended (or long-acting) medications will result in doctors switching to less regulated, shorter-acting medication at the cost of effective pain relief. This may also have the potential unintended consequence of leading abusers to less regulated prescription medication. http://www.washingtonnc.org/2009/09/14/banning-acetaminophen-combination-medications-what/

I wrote to you before about this same subject. Looks like they are going after just about everything that helps people manage their own care. I wear the Duragesic patch and I'm worried about not being able to get it. Do you have an idea of why Duragesic is on the list for banning?
