Annoyed.
-
Flustered and happy. Flustered because the house is a wreck. Happy because I'm still glad to have company even if they have to sit on a pile of unfolded laundry.
-
I don't mind at all. People stop by here all the time. +5
-
Don't mind especially if they bring the beer.
-
Annoyed because it's usually when the house is not clean or I am eating. It's very rude IMO
-
Slightly irritated unless there is a good reason.
-
If they're friends, great! If not, perturbed. ;-)
-
I like unannounced visitors, as long as i'm not naked..... :D
-
I don't like it. Family I have no problems with, but anybody else, even my best friend, I would rather they had let me know a little in advance. Even if its just a text to say "I'll be round in 5".
-
When I was single, it was great. I welcomed them. Since I have a live-in girlfriend, it sucks.
-
I have to know if someone is coming over. I do not answer the door otherwise
-
always a pleasure to have visitors even unannounced
-
when i was younger i didn't mind at all, now it bothers me if it's anyone other than my mom. only because im usually busy and in my pjs...
-
if it is during my working hours angry. if they respect enough to drop in after hours wheeeeeeee lets go to the back deck and visit. +5
-
It depends on the people.
-
Annoyed, there would have too get a hold of me before, they come on over.+5
-
well, i immediately announce them!!!
-
Annoyed, and then embarressed because my place is usually a mess.
-
Very annoyed, especially if I had plans and they were to be destroyed. If you have such visitors try your best to discourage them in a future. To me it's called disrespect and selfishness. 5+!!
-
For me personally, it really does depend upon who it is. We started demoing our kitchen about a year ago, before my partner had a stroke, and before I had to have hand surgery....both things have brought our work on the house to an abrupt halt, physically and financially! We have some family and friends that I wouldn't worry a bit over an unexpected visit. They understand and love us. There are others, however, that I would probably rather sink quietly into a black hole to avoid them seeing the inside of the house for at least five years!

Thing is, our lifes are such a rush, and at home its also so yes, if Im busy with something or just relaxing, please dont just 'drop-by'! I kinda work on a schedule in the work at home - get home, prepare dinner, help with schoolwork, if there's time for relax inbetween its a bonus - if someone just 'drop-by' time is ticking and we dont get to do what we have to do and want to do. On week-ends we are more relaxed about this kind of 'how-do-you-do' visits.

You mean the people standing out on the front porch wondering why no one will answer the door?
-
I really like a phone call before stopping by because sometimes I don't get dressed until late.
-
I don't like it. I feel it as an attack on my privacy. If people give me a little ring before, or an sms, then it's a whole different story. But I like to be able to say 'yes' or 'no' on forehand.
-
My wife throws a hissy fit~~and escorts them out ASAP sometimes she don't even answer the door if the cars are in the garage~she don't answer the phone if she screens the caller ID~~but I usually say something like we were just ready to leave~~sorry
-
with my hands
-
Depends on who it is and what's going on that day. Overall, i really dont like it.
-
It drives me absolutely nuts.
-
mostly i get really annoyed but theres the odd person when its a nice surprise
-
It's a hassle, I'm a good host if I know ahead of time.
-
It depends on who it is, but usually it makes me feel irritated....intruded upon.
-
I really like a phone call before coming by. I may not be dressed or whatever.
-
I feel like not going to the door.
-
I quite like it sometimes, especially if it's someone i haven't seen for a few weeks.
-
Most likely annoyed but if I'm feeling lonely at the time I'll probably be overjoyed. If they come bearing food/drinks (alcoholic or NA) then it's all good.
-
i absolutly hate it! people come by here all the time that are too poor to get a cell and call or are just assholes. THe worst is when someone calls me and i dont answer the phone because i know what they want and i dont have it. they call over and over and finally just come on over and bang on my door since i didnt answer the phone. id like to murder them. I feel like if i dont answer my phone then im busy, i dont have what you want, or i dont want to talk to you let alone see you, so dont come over to my house! FREAKS!
-
I hate it. I do not enjoy entertaining, and we live on a very tight budget so there's never any treats stashed away to produce for unexpected company!
