live everyday the same way i do now, to the fullest

Try to build a hidden underground shelter. Arm myself heavily and buy up food stores. Put my wife and kids (if I have some at the time) in the shelter with me. Any friends I could fit into the shelter would also be a plus. I would also do heavy reasearch into farming methods.

Get Scotty to beam me up =P The likelihood is that if they had 10 years before it hit, we'd have 10 years of scientific research going into a way to try and stop it from killing everyone and everything.

I would want to live, no matter how little a chance I have. What I do know is that a life-erasing asteroid will destroy most life through climate change. Soooo, I would amass all the money I could get my hands on, steal some if I have to. Then I would construct a massive shelter underground, store it with food that would last for years...The surface would be uninhabitable for years anyway, so I'd have no choice. Sure, it's a poetic notion, and I can dream can't I?

"If"? Lets try "when". Scientists say that the doomsday asteroid is headed towards earth, and might have a collision, or extremely near miss between the years of 2029 and 2036. Scientiests named this asteroid already, something "1999", forgot the full name. Scientists working with the UN have been building deviced that will either make the doomsday asteroid explode into millions of pieces, not causing hardly as much damage as the asteroid in full, or change its course, so it doesn't hit earth. I won't do anything special with my life, its a long time away. I'd probably watch the news every day and see what the UN does about it. If its our time to go, the asteroid may hit. There are few out there, but they are out there, but again, one in particular that is causing some worry.

I would do my best to live the fullest life possible for the next ten years and hold out the possibility that, as they sometimes are, the scientists are wrong about this.
