    She "spotted". As soon as you would see a spot on the floor, you could look out the window and be absolutely guaranteed to see the neighbor's basset hound sitting in the front yard. He would walk a mile in a foot of snow to get here.

    Absolutely. My wife put a baby diaper on our miniature dachsund until we could get her *fixed*. The dog was totally humiliated and absolutely miserable. But at least there were not little drops of blood all over the floor......
