  • There are many places like that on Nevada's deserts, and elsewhere. +5
  • nope, how much money do you usually manage to make in a day from prospecting?
  • well i do tend to find alot of tin cans in my garden
  • Yep, sure do. There is a place just across the line in Arkansas where you can hunt for diamonds. Many have been found right on top of the ground...and some with a little digging. I have a friend who found a diamond ring....(lol!)
  • I live near Mt. Rainier which is still considered an active (yet currently dormant) volcano. Because of that, there are lots of thundereggs, quartz, and other types of crystals/minerals to be found.
  • There is a graveyard down the road from me. Could probably find some nice jewels there.:)
  • Depends on what you're prospecting for. Yuppies and cockroaches?
  • You know it's funny. You repeatedly refer to prospecting but the outcome is "small containers" which presumably are of little, if any commercial value. Maybe it's just a question of sematics but I think of prospecting as working an area or looking for something of value. Isn't what you're doing more like foraging? Are you really expecting to find a mineable lode or serious deposit of anything?
  • Yes. There used to be a commercial gold mine in the northern part of our county. Gold is still found in the streams around it.
