There is not enough genetic diversity within a group of 30 people to keep the species alive. Within 4 generations the effects of incest would have manifested with most of the population having one or more of the following: (This list applies to more higher order of mammal which includes humans): Elevated incidence of recessive genetic diseases Reduced fertility both in litter size/Egg development and in sperm viability Increased congenital defects such as cryptorchidism, heart defects, cleft palates. Fluctuating assymetry (such as crooked faces, or uneven eye placement and size). Lower birthweight Higher neonatal mortality Slower growth rate Smaller adult size. Loss of immune system function. In 5 generations the descendants of 30 adults no matter their genetic diversity would more likely be near sterile, any children born most likely would die in their first month of life, or be miscarried or still born. Those who did survive would suffer from something along the lines of AIDS with hardly any immunity from any infection, thus if they survived their first month, they wouldn't survive past age 5. Less since there would most likely be none of the medicines we have today. The Royals of Europe and the Royals of other cultures inbred, the result was folk like Charles II of Spain. Charles II of Spain had mandibular prognathism (jaw deformity). Charles II also had a huge number of other genetic physical, intellectual, sexual, and emotional problems. His line died out with him, he was completely infertile, unable to procreate and have offspring. Most royal lines ended simply because they had inbred to the point where they could no longer produce young. In your scenerio the young lady would best to be a medical doctor with some historical understanding that the consequences of attempting to mother the human race is a morally unacceptable one that would only keep the species going for a hundred years at most before it met its final end. And the 29 males, might as well get used to masturbation or seek homosexual type relationships to pass away the rest of their days.

I wouldn't. I'd let the species die out. It's for the good of the planet.
