  • Do you mean the ABS light? If so it means there is a problem in the system and it will not go out till the problem is fixed. Some parts stores have the computer to hook up to it and get the code it is a different computer than the obd2 one. If notheing else you can find someone like me that has it or a garage though they charge much more than someone like me. If it is just a brake light then it could be a leak in the system or a problem with the emergancy brake.
  • Odds are it needs a brake light switch (located on the pedal bracket) under the dash. Ford was also known for the wires to melt out of the switch plug too. If that is the case you will need a repair plug and a switch, but more likely just the switch.
  • After rereading your question do you mean the tail light brake lights? Could be the switch on the brake pedal gone bad, a bad relay, or a short in the wireing.
  • I once encountered a similar problem but it was the horn. Would not go off. The driver was obviously distressed. We found the fuse box and found the fuse for the horn. Pulled the fuse and put it back in. Problem fixed. If you have your owners manual then look up the fuse box locatin. You can at least try the same thing which is easier than disconnecting the battery.
