I like antiques. I have no idea why modern furniture is so expensive, but if it's of a good quality, I'm sure it's worth it.

I prefer traditional because of the detail in the work on each piece. I like the dark tones and depth of color. It is easier for me to build accessories around both in color and texture.Modern is more simple in its line, but not interesting for my taste. For the expense of modern furniture I have no answer.

I personally like a mix... there are a few things that I would take as modern (for example an entertainment center) where as other things I would take as traditional (for example dressers, shelves, and chairs... my favorite color for this would be dark cherry)..

I like an ecletic mix. My living room has mahogony family antiques with a glass and marble coffee table. It looks great.

I prefer traditional and antique. The modern day furniture is made of press board, and cheap in quality, and style.Over 100 years ago people seemed to care about quality and taste. That is long gone with mass production,no matter what the cost.Even very expensive modern furniture is badly made, even at $5000+.

Tuscany type furniture

I like modern furniture and modern and post-modern architecture because they encourage you to keep space open.
-
Personally I love antiques. They are made so much better most of the time.

I prefer modern. Sometimes it comes down to just having a brand name on it making it cost a ton, but in some ways you get what you pay for. Antiques can be just as pricey
