take it from me, i love to pole vault. but i dont really know of any other ways to train except to get faster and improve your arm strength.

Work on your upper body strength, especially focus on exercises like lat pulls, pull ups and rowing. Also, make sure you have no extra weight without getting too skinny not to lose strength.

sit ups it's not just your arms that get you up over the bar.The stronger your stomach muscles are, the easier it is for them to help you swing your legs up and over too.
