I'm seeing plenty of sunshine here in South Texas as well as a great deal of humidity. Texas has a competitive electric supplier arrangement. You can buy your electricity from a large number of suppliers. This is supposed to reduce the cost of power. The highest bill here was $200 in August our first month. I live in a small place. The same window-style unit provides heat and a/c like you find in some motels. The electric is under $20 in spring and fall, up to $50 in midsummer, $55 in midwinter.

The season is always mid summer because it's over 110 everyday and we have to keep the air going.

June-Aug $350/mo in FL. 1500sq ft home. 4 ppl. It's ridiculous! Gulf Power = Blood suckers! Gotta have the A.C. tho. Sept just went down to $300. I know. UUhhhh. And the taxes and 'customer charges' they add on. It's $70 before they even get to what you actually used. MO'FO.
