The causes of diabetes are extremely complex and range from genetics to food to age to lifestyle, etc. I am posting a link you may use to find more information. the endocrinologist could not even say except the pancreas isn't working right. I still have a chance to get rid of it. I was so hurt and angry when I first heard. +5

The causes of type 2 diabetes are when the pancreas can't function properly because of excess weight or just deterioration with age. The causes of type 1 are still unknown, but it's thought to be something hereditary (both me and my sister have diabetes and i know several other pairs of siblings who have it).
