  • Yep; it isn't that difficult to mask your true feelings of depression, sadness etc and just PRETEND to be happy and satisified when you are around others ... I do it all the time. +5

  • Yes they can They could be trying to work thur the depression their own way. Not always a good idea but some people have good reasons why they may be taking this route. Trying to seem happy and content infact is one way of keeping them from falling any deeper into depression. my opinion ...
  • Definitely. I'm always known as the happy one. I'm always smiling and giddy. Two years ago, I was very depressed. Family problems piled on with problems with friends and my own spiritual state of being. I didn't even want to live anymore. I was detached from the realistic world. I wasn't even happy. I was empty. And the craziest part was...not one person knew it. Praise God I am no longer like that!! haha, I truly am joyful, without a front. But, definitely...you can make others perceive you however you want.
