  • in India the first letter is decided by the priest... and a whole long religious ceremony is performed and is attended by large number of relatives and friends... and then all the relatives, (who have come prepared with lists of names fire the volley of names... as if some competition is going on that whose name would be selected by teh parents...) Poor parents have to select ... now a days internt sites based in India have published long lists of names making it more confusing... lolzzzzz
  • Her name was just a name i'd always liked and it felt right. :) It's like when a bride choses a wedding dress (not that i'd know,as i never want to get married, but this is the only example i could think of) or when someone buys a house. You have an idea,your ideas change over time and you go through loads that just aren't quite right, but you do eventually find one that's perfect!!

  • We each made a list of names for girls and for boys. Then we compared the lists and crossed off any that didn't appear on both lists. Since we were now down to 0 names, we started looking through a baby name book until we found names we agreed on.
