  • yes they can, any input we feed our brains can allow new ideas to be considered
  • Yes. People have died from trying to emulate movie scenes/characters.
  • Yes. In fact in more ways than you might think. For example, look how pop-socks suddenly became more popular after Clueless was released. Mini sales after the Italian Job (the proper one, not he new one!). Children pester their parents to buy them the new move related toys. On a more serious note, the spate of school killing sprees was partially blamed on the Matirx movie, helped by the fact that the killers wore attire very similar to the movie characters. And let's face it, how many of ous out there have pretended a pool cue was a lightsabre? Oh, just me then?
  • Influence, yes. But not the 'reason' people do what they do (aka shootings).
  • depends on the movie. if it is the kind to make you think a little (i.e. V for Vendetta) then yes, but if it isn't (i.e. most comedies) then it shouldn't.
  • Yes. Well, at least Khalid Sheikh Mohammed would have us believe that. He told the FBI that his group of affiliates got their ideas for potential terrorist attacks off the 1998 film "Godzilla".
