The area of Hadrian's wall on around the English/ Scottish border. They couldnt overcome the Pictish tribes there so built the wall as a line of defence.

The Romans knew about the Calidones (Scots) and had often had trouble with them. Agricola in about 80 AD pushed the Roman army up to the River Tay. The Antonine Wall shows where the Romans spread for an extended period of time. They would have had military campaigns further north but they were settled below the wall. It is situated between the Firth of Forth and the Firth of Clyde, along the central belt of Scotland.
