I had the same issue. I know this sounds really cheesy, but I made him a basket...(not really a "basket") But I put in all his favorite things that he just won't buy himself. I got him a gift card to starbucks, a Ray Charles CD, and some edible things......Plus something to wear (for me to wear)for him. He said he never got anything like that before, and that it took someone that knew him to make it. He thought it was great.

it depends on what he is into, for example i have a watch collection, so i love getting watches, but i also like gift certificates or gift cards

How about acoupon book. Some naughty and some nice. My husband totally loves it when he gets that one... I only use it as a last resort, gives him way too much power!! sport event tickets, plan a whole evening for his enjoyment (could be poker night with the boys or something for the two of you)

The night of his life. Good meal, Good Wine, Great sex. Any man would be happy

It depends on what he likes, how long you've been together, what you're willing to spend, etc. For example, for my boyfriends last birthday, I bought him a guitar. I knew he likes music, plays the guitar, and I had some extra money to spend. It can be as simple as making him his favourite meal. Take him to see a band he likes, tickets to a sporting event, a gift certificate to his favourite clothing store, electronics that he wants, but doesn't have (camera, Ipod, etc). There are tons of options :) I know the B-day has passed, but I still wanted to answer, incase anyone else is having a similar issue. I hope it worked out well for you!

I shouldn't stress. I'd be happy with *any* gift from my beau. Spend less time thinking about the present and more time thinking about him. Material goods are fine, and they do convey your love, but (without getting overly shmultzy) nothing physical can hope to express your love. Get him something he would *like* or even *need* but would normally not get. Like woolen socks. Or a Beany. Or a framed picture of him and yourself.

Boxers are a good gift or give yourself as a gift
-
A gift certificate to any store that has things he likes.. cds, dvds, tools, games, colognes, electronics... If you really don't know... that's the best way.
-
If you take my advice, boys don't give as much importance to material gifts as girls do. Boys need something with a personal touch. And of-course cost does not matter to us. So a good gift for your boy should be perhaps a self knit sweater or may be your self cooked recipe like baked cookies for that matter .. think of something innovative and not the usual stuff.. I found some really innovative stuff here: http://www.lovenemotions.com/relationships/boyfriend-gift-suggestions.php

Get him one of those portable GPS units for his auto. Guys like things for their autos and they like gadgets. I gave my guy friend one and he uses it to go to the store down the street from him. And they are now fairly inexpensive. I got mine at Wal Mart.
