I love school and I am a good student. I learned a lot both places.

Short answer. Formal stuff, in class. Social skills outside the class. Longer answer. We each learn different things more, or less, efficiently in different environments. There is no set standard. Really long answer. I wrote a book about education and how it may refer to individuals.
