I think that's possible. I see no reason against it, intelligence must not only be based on organic matter, many molecules posses the ability to store and compute information. Also robots are starting to become 'intelligent'.

Yeh Robots are becoming more intelligent I currently feel that the three most likely forms of life will be Carbon-based thats us ^^, Silicon based which is still to be discovered and has to be fairly evolved/advanced more so than Silicon that we know of and lastly Artificial Life which will one day become as important as any Human life I believe.
