In a way there's no limit. At about 100,000 atmospheres (1 million psi) the air becomes liquid, after which the pressure will go up without needing much more mass. Eventually the air will solidify and still you can increase the pressure. Perhaps the real question is what's the greatest mass of air you can force into a fixed volume.
