  • i think the sit/stay command was first.then lay down.the shake serves no purpose other than a parlor trick so i don't waste time with it.
  • To sit up on his haunches and stay sitting....about a week.
  • The first was to "sit" and she got it by the 5th time it was said and with a treat. Now she does sit, stay, beg, speak, shake, high five and wave, all on command without food. If you say "car ride" or "walk" she goes balistic with excitment. +5
  • "NO!" ...followed with a "Good Boy!" and a loving hug. Nikki was a mighty smart and loving dog. He was one of the best friends I ever had. Died in my arms. I miss 'im. +5
  • They both learned to come when called first (yes, even my cat responds to being called). It probably took my dog a week to learn that, as she was very afraid of humans when I got her. What I did was I had a flexi-leash, and I would let her roam to the end of the leash, then call her and gently tug on the leash until she was at my feet, then praise her. My cat is such an attention suck, she learned to come when called on her own.
  • sit! it only took her a few tries with a treat of course...
  • our cat learned to jump up onto the sofa on command. maybe a week. she has a mind of her own.
