I've learned tons from people who are "old", older people have already "been there and done that" if you are planning on a major life decision, ask an older person first. Chances are, they can give you advice that will save you a lot of time and energy.

My grandmother always told me time taks care of everything, I never understood until I got older. Time really does take care of everything. I have relaxed so much more now that I understand this.

Youth and enthusiasm will always be outdone by old age and treachery.

I learned the importance of being trustworthy & responsible. That having to sacrifice short term gratification for long term future security was a wise choice. Self dicipline i hated as a child i am grateful for now.
