  • It depends on the source and intensity of the light. Staring at a lamp will produce no long-term ill effects except maybe some eye strain. On the other hand, Staring at the sun can burn your retina and cause severe nearsightedness or blindness. UV rays are the culprit.
  • depending on the form of light rays will change the effect but all of it is some what bad for your eyes. common light bulbs wont do much but burn the figure of the light into your retina for a few seconds and it will heal. but stronger lights will leave more effective burns.
