  • There is a petcock on the bottom of your radiator which is there to drain the engine coolant. Since it's situated low in the coolant system, nearly all the engine coolant will drain out of the engine and the radiator when you open it. There will be a little residual coolant left in the low spots, but not much. Oh, yeah...don't open the petcock valve until the engine is cool. Unless you LIKE parboiling the flesh on your hand and arm with coolant that is over 200 degrees F.
