It depends on your definition of "good". If you mean will they do a New Orleans and make the play-offs, then the answer is no. But if you mean will they haul themselves to something that is not as dire as usual ie. 6-10 record, then quite possibly. The only way to go is up after all!

I think that the lions will do better this next season.

I think that they will be much improved. Perhaps enough to finish at .500 or just above. If that is the case, in most years, that is good enough to put them in the playoff hunt well into December for a Wildcard slot. Peter King of SI noted that " because the defense will adjust to Rod Marinelli and new coordinator Joe Barry and play well. I like a second year in the Mike Martz offense. If you let Jon Kitna slide past the fourth round in your fantasy draft, you're absolutely crazy. Keep one name in mind on defense: Ikaika Alama-Francis, who, at 6-5 and 280 pounds, will get the chance to be the kind of interior pass-rush presence Marinelli needs to make his defense work". Remember too, that the Lions drafted the great WR Calvin Johnson. I believe that he is the real deal.

The Lions don't ever have a good season. I would love to say my hometown took the Superbowl...or at least won two consecutive games...or won any games...

I don't think they will be in the playoffs, but I definitely think they will have a better season than last. Especially with the addition of Calvin Johnson.

I think they'll be better than last season (3-13). The problem with Detroit is that they're not very talented right now. They ranked dead last in rushing last season, but they didn't even draft a running back this year??? I'll admit that Calvin Johnson looks BANANAS, but without any threat of a good rushing game, they'll only be a threat through the air.
