They're terrible, terrible people. I, for one, would never point out that it's "grammar.";)

If I notice that some one does not use proper grammar, I do not take their answer as seriously.

Depends what they do it for. Personally, I can't stand it when people can't at least use basic spelling and grammar and revert to annoying chat words. If you misspell something, I don't care, if you're doing it on purpose oR yOuR sPeLlInG lIkE tHiS I'll bitch at you relentlessly.

I don't feel *obsessed* but some mistakes are just so obnoxiously wrong that it looks bad for the site.

the first time i asked and answered...an obnoxious troll type dude corrected my spelling...like he was the authority on puncuation..i always beleive in delivering a clear, and understandabe answer or question..but sometimes, there will be a word or two that is spelled incorrectly...so what? dont go ballistic all over the bag. some folks think they are doing something for the good of the bag, by acting like a teacher of sorts..those who are obssesed with correcting and possibly insulting the asker, is in my mind being unfair and unprofessional..as well as being a big meanie lol. anyhoo...its in their nature to act like a strict english professor i guess

Poor spelling and lack of punctuation can make a question completely unreadable, or open to multiple meanings. Here's a fun example:

An English professor wrote the words, “Woman without her man is nothing” on the blackboard and directed his students to punctuate it correctly.

The men wrote: “Woman, without her man, is nothing.”

The women wrote: “Woman: Without her, man is nothing.”

On another note, the questions that are riddled with "net speak", bad spelling, poor grammar, etc. are "usually" quite idiotic and come in several varients of "my gulfriand pragnunt yes r no is you donut anser your gay"

I correct my spelling and grammar errors on a regular basis. It's just one of my pet peeves when my sentences aren't how they should be. Haha, thats for me personally.

    JAMMco... its complicated...

    I didn't know we could...

If you mean through comments... I don't know, maybe its superiority complexes. Perhaps they have no real response to the answer or comment and therefore resort to petty grammatical mistakes to maintain the superior feel over the person who just logically or verbally gave them a smackdown.

They are trying to be helpful in most cases and just can't stand to see blatant errors in others. I am glad to be corrected. Especially if it makes the question or answer easier to understand.
