Floor wax and a buffer machine would do it I suppose. I'm pretty sure there's special wax for hardwood floors.

Timber floors will never become shiny. They will have a beautiful patina to them though by using wood paste floor wax and buffing the floor after each application. Make sure it is paste wax, not liquid.
