When I see that I frequently imagine they have something very naughty on underneath.

They probably want to be recognized for their intellect not how they look. Personally I think both can live together in harmony.

...That they have a rockin body underneath. ...it leaves alittle to the imagination, what fun is it to just see everything already hanging out? ...besides its the ones who dress like a geek and never show themselves...that have the hot rockin young body when they finally do get a make over.

They like to feel comfortable in public rather than squirming around with what they are wearing. Some people don't like to be a show for others to stare at as well. That's my reasoning behind wearing clothes that are considered conservative.

Someone I work with is like that. She wears classic suits, hose, heels (pumps not anything strappy/sexy)..always coordinated & completely acessorized. My work is quite casual. She's shy, soft-spoken, religious and loves basketball and football. Go figure.

I would think that they have their reasons, most likely that they don't want to attract unwanted attention?

I admire modesty in this day and age, as it's become such a rarity. People are so shallow and full of themselves. I would think of a person who dresses conservatively as more dignified, independent, unique, self-respecting etc...

With woman that do it, it seems they are trying to avoid getting attention from men.

I'd think they wanted to project a serious image of themselves, keep off the wrong attention and if they were very plain I'd add that perhaps they were lacking in confidence.
