  • I have lent my spare one out to a acquantanese before. I pay by the month and it is my backup.
  • If it was to be a short phone call, I would say yes. +5
  • I don't loan my cell phone to anyone. I'll pull out two quarters from my pocket, point and say, "There's a pay phone right over there. Be my guest." +5
  • If it was a stranger, I would simply say I'm out of minutes and my husband (or mom- depending how old you are) would kill me if I went over!
  • I let them borrow it. I try to save my theft paranoia for the really big ticket items I may be asked to share.
  • Don't loan my cell phone out to strangers. Too much can happen. I might make the call for the, relay a message, but not give them the phone.
  • I would say sure! There should be a little more kindness in the world
  • If they look like they bathe frequently I let them use it. And, I have a sanitizing wipe out to use when they hand it back.
  • It depends on the circumstances. A stranded mother or child?...of course. A shady acting charactor that displays the slightest hint of an ulterior motive?...HELL NO! And I wouldnt lie either. I dont owe them anything.
  • I wouldn't worry so much about the stranger stealing my phone. The scenario that bothers me goes something like this: He calls his ex-wife or ex-gf, who won't recognize the calling number (she might have his number blocked). They talk for a minute, he gets angry, and he threatens to kill her or her kids.   She freaks, goes to the police, and the police check the phone records. The phone records show that *I* (my phone) called this woman and made the threat. She might tell them it was her ex, but the police will still come to MY house and interview ME, just in case I had something to do with it.   It could be the a business that cheated him, and he calls to threaten them. Or he calls a politician he dislikes and makes a death threat. Whoever he calls, and for whatever, purpose, the record shows MY number.   Jeez, am I paranoid or what?? :)
  • I don't have to lie....I don't own one.
  • if was an er i would call for them but no i am not handing it over i was not born yesterday :-) odd how opinions change +5
