Yes..as long as you don't ask questions that are none of your business such as who they used to sleep with before they met you..stuff like that is part of their private lives and you don't get to know about it just as stuff like that is part of your private life and no one gets to know about it. We don't own each other..we need to respect each other and realize that there are parts of our lives and ourselves that belong only to us, no one else. :)
