i got caught driving later than i was suposed to be. i have a limited driving priveledge that allows me to drive until eight pm. do you think that if i pleaded with the da they might drop the charges. i was driving to pick up my freind who was drunk.

My husbands an attorney, and I'm pretty positive they don't drop charges unless they discovered you never violated any law to begin with. The legal system never accepts excuses (picking up a friend who was drunk) no matter what the excuse. "The letter of the law n-all". ;D

sucks but i have to try it cant hurt can it?
by charliethegreat on August 17th, 2009
That's always been my moto. I can't hurt to try, and nothing is absolute about anything. The letter of the Law sucks when your the one feeling its fortitude, but it's also what keeps things relitivley fair and just for everyone allowed.

Did you realize you might get in trouble for it before you did it, or did you just forget you weren't suppose to.

Laws are pretty straight forward and so are the rules for breaking them no matter what they are, because the laws are the same for everyone. That's why it's most effective when followed to the letter, it cuts down or nearly eliminates "favoritism" or "predjustice".

It's not a perfect legal system, but it's the best we've got, and way better by far than any other legal system in the world.
