in 2007 the were 53 mondays , i know that there are 52 weeks, but there were again 53 mondays in 2007 (2006 and 2005 there were 52) i just started checking to see how many payments i made and thats how i figured it out.

Whatever day of the week a year starts on, there will be 53 of that day of the week in the year. If it is a leap year, there will be 53 both of that day and of the day following. New Year's Day 2007 was a Monday. There were thus 53 Mondays in 2007. New Year's Day 2008 was a Tuesday. Also, 2008 is a leap year. Therefore, the year 2008 has 53 Tuesdays and 53 Wednesdays (but only 52 Mondays).
