  • Nothing. The word wii is supposed to transcend language and culture, representing all of the possible meanings of similar sounding words and encompassing everyone within its all inclusive meaning. Personally, I just liked the name Revolution.

  • The wii got its name through the way it's controlled. Wireless inter-interface the inter-interface meaning other hardware (i.e. The nunchuck) can connect to the main interface(the wiimote) And this is a literal name for computer connected in this way.
  • As it's already said, easy to pronounce all over the world. Also the two "I"s can represent two persons gathering at the Wii. (to have fun) And in Japanese "ii" means "good".
