They have nothing to do with one another. One is blind faith in invisible spirit(s); the other is gathering and studying evidence, performing experiments, and observing and recording results. You could as well ask, do elevators and fruitcakes contradict?

Not necessarily. It's basically religious people taking offense to theories that state anything works in ways other than what they are told to believe. Science is constantly revising itself for new discoveries so it's not really the concept that contradicts god.
