Can you get fined for breaking road rules on private property? (Such as driving through a stop sign in a mall parking lot.)

    Red and white stop signs are the only legal colored stop signs that are enforceable.

    On private property, generally, the police do not have the authority to enforce these signs, unless the property owner has asked or given the police permission to enforce them.

    Reckless driving on private property requires no authorization.

    It depends on your states laws.

    In my state if the stop signs are red you can get ticketed, if they are green you can't.

    I believe that generally no, they can't. I got out of a no-seatbelt ticket because I hadn't yet left the parking lot.
