Go with AVG Free. You go to their website, but be careful which download you take. You want the 'free version' NOT the 'free trial'. You will have to wade thru a few pages of ads trying to get your money, don't pay anything. The free version is just that, Free. It works great. Download and save to your PC. disconnect from the net, delete McAfee, then install the saved file - don't hook up to the net until after AVG is installed and asks you if you want to check for updates. I have been using it for almost a year without any problems. Easy, friendly to use, and very transparent. Gets a 5* rating from me.
