The very first tour took place in 1991, and the first show of this tour was held at Compton Terrace, Tempe, Arizona on 18th July. There were 25 subsequent shows on this tour which ran through until 28th August.

That's a good question. According to Wikipedia, it was on July 26, 1991, which according to the schedule was at the Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, CA. However, the Jane's Addiction Website says July 18, 1991 and according to its schedule was at the Compton Terrace, Tempe, AZ.
